We are addressing those with millions of contacts around the world, a movement, a network, and a hacker who cares about our survival and the defeat of those who threaten it. Those born during the Second World War grew up thinking “Never again”. Never again war. Fifty million dead seemed to bring the world to its senses. Since then, war and genocide have never stopped. We have the latest in front of us: NATO’s relentless advance; Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; Hamas’s savage attack and Israel’s inhuman response; and the endless martyrdom of the people of Gaza. Massacres, massacres, massacres. When we see people machine-gunned as they go to get flour, we think that they are us. Not in an evangelical sense, but in a historical sense. Nobody wants us to be safe. Everybody wants us to be armed. There is a hunger for a war that resembles the prelude to the First World War and foreshadows the Third, and the Last. We are afraid.
We are all afraid. But we think that by arming ourselves we will defend ourselves. No, by arming ourselves we are surrendering to war, to the enemy, to death. We have a dream. That someone, who has the right means of communication to wake up the earth, will declare a world strike against war. For one day we will lock arms. For one day there will be no production and no consumption. If even 20 percent of the population participated, even for a few hours, we would cause as much economic damage as ten wars. Then the world will realise that we exist: we who want peace, because peace is life. Of course, every strike has a cost. But nothing costs as much as war. Like this war. The last one.
