At last Leonard Peltier is free and at home.
This is one of the first photos to arrive where he is with his family and friends from the committee that always defended him and called for his release.
Peltier was freed thanks to a measure in President Biden’s final hours shortly before he relinquished office. It was not the pardon that everyone was asking for after 49 years of incarceration based on nonexistent evidence, but it gave him the chance to be close to his loved ones and friends and to heal himself.
This is thanks to the great international solidarity movement of which Pressenza is pleased to be a part, proving that human, civil society action is not hopeless and futile, as it sometimes seems.
