Pressenza Thanks the Ecowaste Coalition, for Honoring the Partnership with a Plaque of Appreciation

The EcoWaste Coalition recently celebrated its 25th year of service to the Filipino people and Mother Earth by recognizing its indispensable partners from various sectors and affirming its commitment to keep on working with greater fervor and action towards the envisioned zero waste and toxics-free society.

EcoWaste Coalition president Eileen Sison recognized the essential support extended by members and partners, which has enabled the network to serve and thrive during the 25th anniversary celebration.

A non-profit environmental health and justice organization in the Philippines, the Ecowaste Coalition has been an official partner of Pressenza since 2021. Thanks to all the news of their programs and projects, it is hoped that their stories have gained space and exposure to reach a wide audience, to encourage and inspire everyone to help do their share in building a clean and safe environment for everyone to live in and especially for all the Filipino children and youth who deserve a clean and healthful society to grow up in.

To quote Manny C. Calonzo in a letter he wrote, “EcoWaste Coalition is an official media partner of Pressenza, an independent press agency, since 2021. As a nonprofit organization, we value the generous assistance provided by Pressenza in amplifying our resolute efforts towards a zero waste and toxics-free society. Pressenza has published on its portal our stories and initiatives on a wide array of issues and concerns, including our campaigns for sustainable and socially just waste management, public health and safety from hazardous chemicals and products, environmental justice, gender equality, etc.”

The ”Award of Recognition” was given during the January 31 recognition and thanksgiving event held in the historic “Walled City” of Intramuros in Manila where the contributions of founders, individual advocates, and partner institutions and groups from the government, industry, civil society, academia, and scientific community were gratefully honored and recognized.

It is particularly gratifying to see the extensive network of members and partners, and a dedicated staff, which has enabled the network to serve and thrive– respected incorporators, past and current presidents, NGO representatives to the National Solid Waste Management Commission, informal waste recyclers, and multi-stakeholder partners, including donors being honored, their efforts duly acknowledged. Surely, it takes and will take a shared effort and a shared purpose to bring to fruition – a clean, healthy and sustainable environment for all Filipinos, especially for the children and youth.

Once again, Ecowaste Coalition took this opportunity to thank Pressenza, “It’s an honor for the EcoWaste Coalition to present the “Award of Recognition” to you and Pressenza International for your tremendous support and solidarity with our advocacy efforts towards a zero waste and toxics-free society.  We are particularly grateful to Pressenza for providing us with an expanded platform to share our stories about people’s health and the environment to a wider audience in the Philippines and overseas.”

We in Pressenza are proud and happy to work with a dedicated agency working for an environment that’s fit for everyone.

Seeing the Pressenza posts in Ecowaste social media outlets, we in Pressenza duly acknowledge the reciprocal partnership that we have built and consolidated in the past years and look forward to stronger collaboration and teamwork in the years to come.
