On Monday evening, after 15 months of relentless bombardment, Netanyahu and his extremist government chose to break the fragile ceasefire. This decision to resume the fighting unleashed a wave of destruction that has already claimed the lives of over 400 people in Gaza, including 174 children. March 18, 2025, was one of the deadliest days in history for Palestinian children. The Israeli government’s escalating violence harms both Israelis and Palestinians. Every moment this bloodshed continues, more lives are lost, more families are torn apart, and more communities are shattered. The hostages and the people of Gaza are paying the highest price—used as pawns in Netanyahu’s political game.
Netanyahu has stated that the airstrikes across Gaza are “only the beginning”—we say no to this dangerous escalation. This is a choice. We do not accept it. The US administration’s support and coordination of Israel’s resumption of violence is unconscionable. Trump’s White House Press Secretary confirmed that the Israeli government consulted with the US administration before launching the deadly airstrikes—the US government’s continued funding and enabling is entirely unacceptable.
Since March 2, Israel has blocked essential humanitarian aid, and as of March 10, it has severed the electricity powering a desalination plant in Gaza, worsening the suffering of the Palestinian people. We refuse to stand by while the innocent are sacrificed for political gain.
As Palestinians, Israelis, and international allies, we demand that Netanyahu and his government stop the violence now. We demand an immediate ceasefire, and we demand an end to the destruction. The time for action is now. The time for a just peace is now. We will not rest until this ends.
In the days ahead, Combatants for Peace will help lead the charge, mobilizing Palestinians and Israelis to take to the streets and collectively demand an immediate ceasefire. AFCFP will soon be on Capitol Hill, standing side by side with Palestinian and Israeli activists, meeting directly with representatives to reject this unending cycle of violence, and pushing for a just and lasting peace. AFCFP is also coming to DC to oppose the potential appointment of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee as Ambassador to Israel. Huckabee is a dangerous voice who denies the very existence of Palestinians and claims there is no such place as the West Bank. His extremism and blatant disregard for Palestinian lives have no place in shaping US policy.
What you can do now:
Contact your representatives: Demand they take immediate action to press for a ceasefire. Let them know AFCFP and CfP activists will be on Capitol Hill this week and can meet with them. Click here to send a message.
Donate to our movement: We cannot fight this without you. We need your support to mobilize our activists, jointly protest in Israel and Palestine, and support our activists on Capitol Hill in DC, right now.
We are not powerless and we cannot remain silent.
Together, we have the strength to demand a different path.
