In the whole Western World presidents and prime ministers rolled over each other in stating how a wonderful Pope Franciscus was, shedding (figuratively) thick tears of sorrow. They praised Francisco practicly straight to heaven.
This Pope who was humble, did not want to live in the somewhat isolated Pope’s palace, taking residence in that place where visiting cardinals and bishops can stay, a kind of ‘hotel’ you could say.
This Pope who saluted his congregation with the words “buona sera fratelli e sorelle” in his first appearance to the crowd after his election. This Pope who always clothed himself in humble white, without rich ornamentations or jewels, and only with a silver breast cross. This Pope who made very clear that he was first and foremost the pope of the poor and the exploited. This Pope who wanted peace in the World and made that very clear in his expressions. This Pope who condemned the greediness of the powefull and said that “there is a World War Three in pieces going on, a not organic war, but a war of interests, for money, for natural resources, for the dominance of the people en feeded by the arms industry”. He has said all this loud and clear for everybody to hear.
Of course all he tried to do was to help bring a better world for everybody. And of course he was obstaculated many times, even within the Vatican structure itself. They tried to silence him through fake accusations and through fake illnesses at the beginning of his Papal reign. Who ‘they’ were and are, is always a guess. But for sure they have power and the means to try to silence people. That happens all the time. But Pope Franciscus just went on with his plans of bringing the Church again to the people and being in service of them and not the people in service of the Church. There was a reason why he took the name Franciscus. The name of Franciscus of Assisi.
At his Papal coronation of course there they were, all the heads of state and prime ministers. And now at his funeral they will be there again, even horror clown Zelensky who accused the Pope of being on Russia’s side because he expressed his desire for peace.
Oh, how hypocrite they are. Going to the funeral of the Pope they did not like at all, because he exposed them (without saying names but clear to everyone) for their greedy interests and warmongering.
A good Pope has left us, a good shepherd of his flock, who was not afraid to say what he thought was very necessary to say and who took the initiatve to start a reconciliation between the Church of Rome and the Orthodox Church of Constantinopel and Russia, who aproached the Islam and it’s leaders. We will see who comes next. In the meantime our power politicians and their greedy industrial and military complex will go on with their violent plans as soon as the funeral is over, as if they never heard or listened to Franciscus’ words or saw his deeds.
That is their greatest hypocricy of all.
