A poem bestowed on me
One morning upon waking up…
To carry forth this aging body
Wearing lovely memories
Like a richly embroidered robe
Exuding warmth of protection.
To carry forth in each moment
Stepping lightly
Like a free spirit
Cavorting with what each day brings.
To carry forth life’s melodies
Feeling inspiring tones
Like the happy clarion call
Of what lies ahead.
To wake up
Remembering lovely memories
Getting tuned up to face a new day
Looking forward to an open future…
I give thanks, grateful thanks
For everything that life has bestowed
For everything that life has given
For everything that life will continue…
To bestow, to bestow on you
On me and on humanity.
