3rd World March for Peace and Nonviolence presented in Malaga, Spain

On October 2nd, International Day of Nonviolence, the 3rd World March for Peace and Nonviolence was presented at the Economic Society of Friends of the Country in the city of Malaga.

This event took place hours after the organisation World without Wars and without Violence presented it in the Spanish Congress of Deputies, thus marking the start of this campaign.

Malaga, as it did in 2009, takes the initiative to actively participate in the organisation of this 3rd World March that will leave Costa Rica on 2 October 2024 and will circumnavigate the earth to end in the same country in January 2025.

José Antonio Sierra, collaborator of Casa América Málaga and Hugo Rodríguez Ghiara of World without Wars and without Violence, intervened in the introduction of the Campaign. Its objective is the creation of a global nonviolent consciousness. This new consciousness will be the necessary step towards a world free of violence, not only in its cruelest expression, wars and physical violence, but also free of economic, racial, religious, sexual, psychological and moral violence.

The motives justifying such action, both individual and collective, as well as the procedures to enable the participation of society as a whole, were discussed in depth. It should be noted that the World March does not accept sponsors or sponsorships that condition its proposals. Previous experiences confirm that this is possible and that there are many people, organisations and governments, especially at the local ambit, who support these ideas without demanding any publicity in return. It is therefore a voluntary action that is carried out out out of consciousness in a multitude of ways and is open to all people, organisations and institutions as demonstrated on previous occasions such as the first World March.

Finally, it was indicated how to join and the calendar of activities.
