The Concerned Artists of the Philippines (CAP) celebrated 41 years of dedicated service to the people through art and cultural work at their 41st General Assembly, successfully held on July 13, 2024 at the UP College of Fine Arts.
The organization paid the highest tribute to the martyrs and heroes who paved the way for national liberation. During the General Assembly, CAP successfully selected a new Board of Directors and approved its General Plan of Action for the next two years. This event also featured the opening of the CAP interactive exhibit. The assembly saw active participation from the CAP Bicol Chapter, including the Kurit-Lagting Art Collective, and other chapters from PUP and Cavite.

The General Program of Action for 2025-2027 was successfully drafted, the current Constitution and Bylaws were revised, and the new CAP Board of Directors was elected, marking another milestone in CAP’s ongoing commitment to cultural advocacy and national liberation.
CAP also paid the highest tribute to the martyrs and heroes who have passed and set ablaze the road for national liberation. This road is for all freedom fighters to take on, through collective action inspired by the struggle of the Filipino people and all toiling masses of the world.
Co-founded in 1983 by Lino Brocka, National Artist for Cinema, the Concerned Artists of the Philippines is an organization of artists, musicians, writers, filmmakers and cultural workers from various disciplines that works toward a nationalist, people-oriented art and culture. It is actively involved in issues concerning art, culture and people’s issues. CAP continues to navigate the complex landscape of cultural work amidst escalating conflicts among local ruling classes and inter-imperialist tensions.
