Dr. Noor Abdalla, Mahmoud Khalil’s wife, urges participation in April 5 national march for Palestine in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Noor Abdalla, Mahmoud Khalil’s wife, issued a video statement this morning urging supporters of her husband’s cause to attend the national march for Palestine in Washington D.C. this Saturday. She highlighted the importance of continuing the struggle amidst the escalating massacre in Gaza and Trump’s ongoing repression targeting hundreds of pro-Palestine activists. Khalil, who has been detained for 25 days now, was targeted in a politically motivated detention that sought to make an example out of his vocal opposition to the genocide and occupation of his homeland.

Dr. Abdalla said, “The time to show up is now. I urge you to take a bus, take a car, take a plane or take a train and show up at 1pm. We need to show up in large numbers and make it known that the people will never consent to the massacre in Gaza.”

She continued, “Mahmoud has been unlawfully detained in an ICE detention center for 25 days now, and he is not alone. Students from all over the country are being targeted for speaking up for Palestinian liberation and are having their First Amendment rights violated. This crackdown is an attempt to distract from the genocide in Gaza, which has renewed in full force.”

Co-sponsors of the action include: the Palestinian Youth Movement, The People’s Forum, ANSWER Coalition, American Muslims for Palestine, U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, Jewish Voice for Peace, U.S. Palestinian Community Network, U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights, Palestinian Feminist Collective, AROC Action, Democratic Socialists of America, Al-Awda.
