In times of confusion and uncertainty unfolding globally, we all may seek solace and positive vibes with the flow of our lives. Music is important for deep healing within our core being. We have been invited to Play with K Concerts on 12 & 13 November 2024 to enjoy the Band Healing Concerts, bringing K-pop, and K-fusion artists live at the open Songhyeon Green Plaza and Understand Avenue in Seoul. The concerts were organized by Kkong, the outsourcing operator of Arirang TV, in collaboration with the Culture Us platform (www.cultureus.co.kr), a company that promotes Korean culture around the world through cultural experiences and exchanges while simultaneously networking with citizens worldwide.
As Korea is well-known for K-pop and K-fusion musicians globally, we were blessed to attend Tuesday’s concert immersing with a lineup of musicians such as Song Sohee, an iconic Korean folk singer, who modernizes traditional Korean folk songs, Minyo, with her powerful voice and masterful technique, connecting deeply with audiences of all ages. A group of energetic young musicians called Far East Asian Tigers, a band mixes rock and electronic with experimental, culturally expressive sounds, making them a fresh force in Korea’s indie scene. A captivating performance by a musician, Thunder Lily, known for her dreamy, nostalgic melodies in the dream pop and synth-pop genres, her music creates an ethereal, calming escape. A refreshing performance by Garden in the Air. With soft, poetic melodies inspired by nature, the artist blends lo-fi, jazz, and indie folk for fans who love mellow, emotional soundscapes.

PD Jeong Eui-yeon, who was in charge of the project at SUPERBEAN Co., Ltd., an outsourced producer for Arirang TV, told Pressenza Press that Korea invites the world to explore its rich heritage, vibrant arts, and the spirit of healing through unique, participatory performances.
He explained “This project was designed to enhance Korea’s positive image as a global tourist country. In particular, with the concept of ‘healing’, we wanted to show a comfortable and warm Korea to foreign tourists and residents who visit Korea. For example, it showed a natural form of performance that can be organized on the street, at open public venues, not in the center or a studio. It was our first attempt to invite foreigners as well, we didn’t often hold events for foreigners. In particular, our company Kkong, the outsourcing operator of Arirang TV, was the first to carry out this project.”
This project, Play with K the Band Healing concerts, focused on cooperation with Arirang TV, and used the ‘Culture Us’ platform to invite foreign visitors. Our performance director worked closely with the performing artists and carefully planned K-music that would be preferred by foreign audiences. Through these events, we can convey the charm of Korean music more effectively.” he added.
In addition to the soul-touching healing musical performances, the late afternoon atmosphere was simply magical, with the golden rays of sunshine bathing the surroundings, while the clear blue skies of Seoul stretched above. The scene was one of serene beauty, perfectly complementing the performances and creating a truly unforgettable experience.
