The 3rd World March for Peace and Nonviolence in Nepal

by Tulsi Sigdel

Kathmandu, Nepal. The scheduled program for October 23 was to hold a Boudha Stupa rally in the morning, at 9 am. There, a small symbol of participants was made in front of the stupa.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Boudha Stupa or Jarung Kashor, also known as Khasti Chaitya or Khāsa Chaitya, is a stupa and major spiritual landmark seen as the embodiment of the enlightened mind of all the Buddhas, located in Boudhanath, within the city of Kathmandu, Nepal. (Source: Wikipedia)

We couldn’t organize activities in schools and for college students because the national holiday is running. And here, during the festival time, schools are closed for a month.

At 1 pm, the World March program was held inside the Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. The students who are learning about peace and conflict management showed their keen interest in change for the future and asked how they can contribute towards this desired change. During the program, the World March base team tells them that a change for the better, that a world without wars and violence is a possibility, sharing with the students how it can be made possible.
